Links

I have started to put links on my blog... and I now have a place that I can download pics right from my phone with out any extra work... so... I will start sending pictures there. Check it out if you want. If I want to put them in an album then I will move them to the other site. That is more for having an album with comments and whatnot. And that way I can seperate them by genre. Oh yeah.. fun stuff. I really am liking the picture phone!!

I am trying to get the house ready for company but since it isn't my house I don't want to mess with things too much so basically I am cleaning my areas... and I will leave the rest.

Oh yeah... exciting stuff!!

Quote

Samir: WHY DOES IT SAY PAPER JAM WHEN THERE IS NO PAPER JAM? I SWEAR TO GOD, ONE OF THESE DAYS I-I-I JUST KICK THIS PIECE OF SHIT OUT THE WINDOW!

Someone please tell me you know where this quote comes from!!! I know you know the right answer... forrrgeeet it!!

So, I went for a run today but I think I picked the wrong time to go... noon. What was I thinking. I made it about a mile and a half. And that was as far as I could possibly go!! I was beat. Did I mention that there are a ton of hills down here. It changes the amount of running I can do. I will get used to it though, I know.

I am going out tonight to explore this new town. Should be fun. I guess we are going to another mall.. yes!! Oh yeah! I am very excited about a new mall. Well, that's about it. Still job hunting. I have my resume out but I doubt anyone will call me tomorrow seeing that its the day before a holiday weekend. But we shall see. If anyone does call I will add it... keep you posted.

Hello... Hello...

It has been a little while since I last updated this thing... yesterday I went to the local mall... again. Got myself some shoes for interviews. I didn't have any before so I needed them. I also got a few other things, it is a really nice mall!!

I have my resume updated and now have to send it out. Its been given to a recruiter as well so hopefully that will help. I will be online later looking for places to send the resume.

This morning I mowed the lawn here. I am starting to pick up the place because there are some friends comming down and I wanted it to look good for them. There were a lot of huge ant hills and everytime I would go over one all the ants would come out... made me laugh. It is pretty warm but there is a good breese so it was nice. I did get a good work out from it and will probably have some pretty sore arms later but I really enjoyed the time outside. Now I need to clean myself up... get the combination of grass and sweat off of me... yuck!!!

More Pictures!!

I have updated my pictures... take a look and tell me what you think. You can actually view them in a slide show if you prefer. It would probably be easier to see the pictures in that view... otherwise they are pretty small.

I am getting somewhat settled here. I won't be completely settled (my stuff is everywhere) until the rest gets here on Friday. Then I will be able to put everything away. I am starting to look for a new job. I got the Atlanta Sunday paper yesterday... it is huge!! And I found the job section... fabulous!!

Cliff took me around this area on Saturday. He took me to a mall... huge!! And he said that this is one of the smaller malls in the area. Oh yeah... I am excited... watch out checkbook!! I need to get some shoes to interview in so I will probably go back there sometime this week. And then I will start to find the other malls...

We were going to go to downtown Atlanta on Saturday but there was a huge storm and that just didn't happen. Oh well, there is time for that!

Georgia welcomes... me!!

I made it... I am now a peach!! It was a pretty smooth trip... nothing really exciting happened which is probably a pretty good thing. It's a long enough drive without having something happen. I did take some pictures with my phone and will try to get them up to this site as soon as possible.

Pictures

Check this out... I have added more pictures to my album. Just click on the word Pictures. Enjoy if you so choose!!

So, I am going to put another quote in. A little one about knowing your limits...
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding you limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

So I went tanning yesterday. Sometimes I wonder about my timing. I picked the warmest day of the season so far up here and it was also the muggest. Also, the tanning location doesn't have air conditioning. So sitting in the tanning lights for 20 minutes... I do have to admit I did sweat. But today I really like my color so it was definately worth it!!

I also worked out a little bit. It felt really good to go for a run and do some leg exercises. I really enjoyed it... but then I generally do.

End of the Day...

So, its the end of my work day and I get to go home. What am I going to do with my evening? Not too much actually. Probably work out and go under some artificial light. Get some color to my white skin. And please, no lectures about skin cancer. It makes me feel good now...

Here is my little quote for today:

A successful man is one who makes more money than a wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man. -Lana Turner, actress (1921-1995)

Oh yeah... thats a good one!!

Check this out...

I got an email from my cousin Marie... I found it to be hilarous!! So here is part of it!!

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRUE Michigander WHEN:
• "Vacation" means going up north past US75 for the weekend.
• You measure distance in hours.
• You know several people who have hit a deer more than once.
• You often switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day and back again.
• You can drive 65 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard, without
flinching.
• You see people wearing camouflage at social events (including weddings).
• You carry jumper cables in your car and your girlfriend knows how to use them.
• You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.
• Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.
• You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction
• You can identify a southern or eastern accent.
• Your idea of creative landscaping is a statue of a deer next to your blue spruce.
• You were unaware that there is a legal drinking age.
• Down South to you means Indiana
• A brat is something you eat.
• Your neighbor throws a party to celebrate his new pole shed.
• You go out to fish fry every Friday.
• Your 4th of July picnic was moved indoors due to frost.
• You have more miles on your snow blower than your car.
• You find 0 degrees "a little chilly."

Friends...

Today is the Friends Finale... my day of wearing black. Very sad. I actually don't know what is more sad... that the show is ending or that I am so upset about it. Anyway... I will be watching the whole 2 hour special tonight.

I didn't give you my quote for yesterday so I decided that you would need a few today. And since today will be a Friends day why not do quotes from the show?!?!

Monica: Is it me? Is it like I have a beacon that only dogs and men with severe emotional problems can hear?

Joey: (PLAYING POKER) I fold like a cheap hooker who got hit in the stomach by a fat guy with sores on his face.

Monica: "It's not a date; it's just two people going out to dinner and not having sex."
Chandler: "Sounds like a date to me."

Phoebe: "Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. Ugly Naked Guy is decorating his tree. Oh my God, you should see the size of his Christmas Balls."

Chandler: Okay, well. Janice said 'Hi, do I look fat today?' And I, I looked at her....
Ross: Whoa, whoa, whoa. You looked at her. You never look. You just answer, it's just a reflex. Do I look fat? Nooo! Is she prettier than I am? Noo! Does size matter?
Rachel: Nooo!
Ross: And it works both ways.

Chandler: Yeah, I think for us, kissing is pretty much like an opening act, y'know? I mean it's like the stand-up comedian you have to sit through before Pink Floyd comes out.
Ross: Yeah, and-and it's not that we don't like the comedian, it's that-that... that's not why we bought the ticket.
Chandler: The problem is, though, after the concert's over, no matter how great the show was, you girls are always looking for the comedian again, y'know? I mean, we're in the car, we're fighting traffic... basically just trying to stay awake.
Rachel: Yeah, well, word of advice: Bring back the comedian. Otherwise next time you're gonna find yourself sitting at home, listening to that album alone.

Rachel: I mean, isn't that just kick-you-in-the-crotch, spit-on-your-neck fantastic?

Ok, I guess that is enough quotes for today. Hope you enjoy reading them as much as I have enjoyed finding them. And you know what... what is a better way to watch the last episode of Friends than to eat Ben & Jerrys with it. So, I will probably go shopping today a get myself some... a little comfort food.

Hello Wednesday...

One more day to F day. The last day that Friends will be on the air... only one more new episode to watch. What will I do with my Thursday evenings from now on??? Well, at least there will be Joey. And Will & Grace hasn't abandoned us yet so that is probably what I will watch. But for the past 10 years Friends has been my Thursday evening. It will be a black day for Kristie tomorrow.

A short note about working out... I have gone up 20 lbs on what I can lift... go me!!

What happened to Monday???

I missed a day in my blogging memoir... what is a girl to do?? Well, actually I answer that with I read some other blogs today and had so much fun looking at them. There was one that was actually quite hillarious... so good in fact I have to make a whole new section for links to blogs that I find too good to keep for myself. The first link will definately be to TJ's Place... can't get much of a better blog than that. If you want a good laugh... that is the place to you!!

Well, instead of blogging yesterday I took an exam yesterday. It was the final MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) certification. I am now a registered Experet in Microsoft Office XP (2002)!! Go me!! So I took that test like I did the other 3 at the ISD Center in Bay City. I was ahead of the actual instructor in getting to the classroom and had to wait outside the door for her to arrive. While waiting there were some high school age boys waiting to get into another classroom. I am sooooo glad that I am not in high school anymore. I could barely handle the boys when I was in high school... I really can not handle them anymore either!! And I know that I am only a few years older then they are now but good lord they seemed so young. That is such an old thing to say too... I have to start watching myself...

My hair has also been dyed... it is now a darker shade of blond... much closer to my natural color than I once was. But, that is what I am going for. I know blond hair with black roots is so yesterday... so I figured I would update to today. Well, hopefully I am a little closer.

I have also decided that I am not having a very easy time putting my pictures on this web page so I will create a link to my pictures... if you want to take a look go there... if not, well then never say I didn't offer!!

So, now that I am getting a little more used to this blog its time for me to open up and start to get personal. Well, maybe not too personal... I don't think anyone would enjoy that... would they?? Well, you'll have to let me know. Or, I guess if you think if I ever get too personal just leave me a comment... unless that would be too personal as well. Who knows where this is going. Its more just some rambling now.

I guess if a haircut isn't personal enough I am also very into working out. It started as a love hate relationship that has blossomed into an all out romantic comedy. I was feeling quite large one day so I started running around my apartment complex and neighboring streets. After a few days of that I was tooling around online when I came across the sex offender registry, blah, blah, blah... I found out that there were multiple sex offenders living in my complex... 1 a floor below me. Needless to say that gave me a little scare. So, I stopped running around my complex and started in a gym. I started out trying (definately trying) to run a mile. I used to run track in junior high school... but that was definately a full out hate relationship. Anyway, back on track, I would just dread going to the gym and I would make myself go 3 days a week to work out. Then I started to play basketball with some of my friends at the gym... now that was really very fun!! I love basketball!! Well, eventually that faded but I was liking what the exercise was doing to my body. I was at the point where I could run a mile fairly well so I decided to up the anty again... I started to run 2 miles. Ouch... talk about pain. That is where the hate in this love, hate relationship definately resides. But, my friend, you must never give up... so I pressed on. Found out that I could run 2 miles fairly well. And I was tired of running around an indoor track so I moved over to the eliptical machines... I could watch cable television and get a good exercize while doing so. And I was then going 3 miles. I was then told that lifting weights helps a lot... thank you very much for helping me... because I am starting to see some toning and definitions where my muscles would be. Now I love my Ben and Jerry's way too much to ever give them up but I am not into that right now. But are you asking where is the comedy in this romatic comedy... well if you ask you have never actually seen me work out... there my friends is the commedy. I can seem to fall or trip over just about any thing. So not only do I work out I put on a great show. Multitasking... fabulous!!

Well, I will end this episode with a farewell and a nice quote... see if you get anything out of it... I know that I like it!!

Love is like war; easy to begin but very hard to stop. -H.L. Mencken, writer, editor, and critic (1880-1956)
